You can only watch television at certain times of the day or read the paper when its convenient, however you can turn on a radio nearly anytime or anywhere! When you are considering what you want to say, have a look at the following and time yourself to 20/30/45/60 seconds. Remember to include the words “Sponsor of Huon and Kingston FM” at the end or “Sponsor & name of business” (this can allow you a few more seconds to promote your business) or your message and include it when timing. Word allowance for 20 sec is 55, for 30 sec 65, 45 sec 80, 60sec 95 words. Don’t try to put too much information into the promotion. When thinking of the background music although you can’t use commercial music you can suggest the type of music you would like – sombre, jazz, funky, breezy, country etc.
